Mr. Canty joined HKYO to transport youth to and from their destinations, but has worked his way to being a mentor for the youth we serve. Ernie is a native of Hartford who grew up in the housing projects of Bellevue Square and learned responsibility and entrepreneurship at a very young age working and managing daily responsibilities at his mother’s soul food restaurant. Mr. Canty has 30+ year-experience working with youth through community-based organizations, i.e., S.A.N.D.’s Life Skills Program; Parks and Recreation. He wants to see youth achieve their goals and serve their community, no matter their circumstance.
